Samsung error codes
Samsung washing machines show a short code on the display. Newer machines use a C where older ones used an E (4C instead of 4E), and very old models used E1 to E9. They are the same faults, and every version works in the search.

4E Not filling with water
The washer couldn't take in enough water in the time it allows.
5E Not draining
Water isn't leaving the drum in the time the washer allows.
UE Unbalanced load
The drum couldn't spread the laundry evenly enough to spin safely, so the washer stopped itself.
dE Door not closed or not locking
The washer can't confirm the door is shut and locked, so it won't start or carry on.
Sud Too much foam
The washer found too many suds and paused to deal with them.
3E Motor problem
The washer has found a problem with the drive motor, so the drum can't turn properly.
1E Water level sensor
The sensor that measures how much water is in the drum isn't reading properly.
4C2 Hot water reaching the cold inlet
The water coming in is hotter than it should be, usually because the hoses are on the wrong taps.
HE Heating or water temperature problem
HE1 (6E, E5 or E6 on older models) means the heater isn't working.
LE Water level dropping or a leak
The water level fell when it shouldn't have.
OE Too much water
The washer found more water in the drum than there should be, and stopped to avoid a flood.
tE Temperature sensor fault
The sensor that reads the water temperature isn't giving sensible readings.
UC Power supply or voltage problem
The washer is getting power that's too high, too low or unsteady.
AE Circuit boards can't communicate
The main control board has lost contact with another board: the display board or, on AC6 and AE6, the motor's inverter board.
bE2 A button is stuck
The washer thinks a button is being held down.

Good to know
