Codes on other makes
Unbranded and less common machines use shorter generic codes. These are their most common meanings.
E1 Not filling with water
The dishwasher isn't filling properly, usually because the water inlet valve is blocked or has failed.
E2 Temperature sensor fault
A faulty temperature sensor: the dishwasher can't tell how hot the water is.
E4 Water supply or door latch
Depending on the brand, E4 means low water supply or a door latch problem, so it's worth checking both.
E6 Water heating fault
The dishwasher can't heat the water, typically because the heating element has failed.
F2 Not draining
Water isn't draining out of the machine.
F5 Spray arm blocked
A spray arm is blocked or can't turn freely, so water isn't reaching the dishes.
