What to check, in order
- Reset it
Unplug the dryer, wait at least 30 seconds and plug it back in. Samsung UK gives this as the first step for any code.
- Plug it straight into the wall
Samsung US and Canada say the dryer should be on its own circuit, with no extension lead.
- Check the plug and cord
Make sure the power cord is fully plugged in. On US electric dryers, where the cord is fitted during installation, Samsung says to check it was fitted properly and the voltage is correct.
- Bought abroad?
Samsung Canada points out that power grids differ between countries, and a dryer used outside the country it was made for can show voltage errors.
When to call an engineer
If the supply is fine and the code keeps coming back, Samsung says to request service. Have an electrician check the supply if you're unsure of it.
Good to know
- If the dryer is stacked with a Samsung washer on a multi-control kit, the washer may report 9C1 if you try to control the dryer within 5 seconds of turning the washer on. Samsung US says a software update for this is available through the SmartThings app.
