Samsung E919 error code

Hot water disinfection cycle not completed

The scheduled disinfection (anti-legionella) cycle did not get the hot water tank hot enough, or could not hold that temperature for long enough.

Also shown as 919

What to check

Checked against 4 official sourcesReviewed October 2026

Worth repairing?

Usually free

A one-off after heavy hot water use is not a fault. If it repeats, the immersion heater or settings need checking.

Can you do it yourself?

Easy

About 10 minutes

Before you start

  • Let it cool completely first.
  • Unplug it before you touch anything inside.

What it means

Samsung's control kit manual: 'Error that the set temperature for disinfection operation is not reached, or, after reaching, the temperature fails to continue for the requested time'.

What to check, in order

  1. Avoid hot taps during the cycle

Samsung's installer guide says disinfection can fail if hot water is drawn during it, or if a lot is used just before it starts. It should run when no hot water use is expected.

  2. Don't stop the tank mid-cycle

Samsung says not to stop tank operation manually while disinfection is running.

  3. Check the immersion heater supply

Samsung lists an immersion heater that is switched off, or whose thermal cut-out has tripped, as a reason for cold tank water. Check its switch or breaker is on. Leave any reset inside the unit to your installer.

When to call your installer

If E919 keeps coming back, ask your installer to check the immersion (booster) heater, its thermal cut-out and the disinfection timing settings (Samsung's FSV 3041 to 3046).
