Samsung AC error code

Circuit boards can't communicate

Parts of the dryer's electronics have lost contact with each other. AC6 and AE6 point at the link between the main board and the inverter board.

Before you start

  • Unplug it before you touch anything inside.

What to check, in order

  1. Switch it off for a minute

    Samsung US says to turn the dryer off for 60 seconds, then back on.

  2. Restart the cycle

    For AC6 and AE6, Samsung UK suggests restarting the cycle.

When to call an engineer

If it comes back. Samsung UK says to contact its service centre for AC and AE: board and wiring faults are an engineer's job.

A repair visit will usually check the connectors and wiring first, then the control boards themselves.

Before you book
  • Note the model and serial number. They're on a label inside the door, around the door frame or on the back.
  • Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
  • Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
