Fridge & freezer error codes
Fridge codes usually point at a sensor, a fan or the defrost system. Samsung and LG have their own codes; other makes use short generic ones. Keep an eye on food temperatures while you sort it out.

Codes on other makes
Unbranded and less common machines use shorter generic codes. These are their most common meanings.
E1 Temperature sensor fault
A thermistor fault: the temperature sensor isn't reading correctly, so the fridge can't regulate itself.
E2 Fan motor blocked or failed
The fan motor has failed or is blocked, so cold air isn't circulating.
E4 Defrost sensor failure
The fridge can't run its defrost cycle properly, so ice builds up.
