What does the Samsung LC error code mean?

The dishwasher's leak sensor has found water. Samsung US says the dishwasher then turns itself on and won't turn off, because it's trying to drain the water away.

Can I fix Samsung LC myself?

Easy (About 30 minutes). 1. Wipe up and look: Dry any water you can see, then run a new cycle to check it's a real leak and not a spill. 2. Switch off and check the supply hose: Switch off at the circuit breaker: the dishwasher won't turn itself off while the sensor is wet. Check the supply hose along its length and at both ends, and tighten a loose connection. 3. Check the door seal and spray nozzles: Push a displaced door seal back into line and clean it with mild soap. Clear food from the spray nozzles too: a blocked one can aim water at the seal. 4. Check the detergent: Use dishwasher detergent only, never washing-up liquid, and don't overfill the dispenser. Wipe up spilled rinse aid with a wet cloth. 5. Is Samsung LC worth repairing?

Deal with it now. Don't keep running it with water in the base. The cause is often small, like a loose hose or the wrong detergent, but a leak left alone damages the floor underneath.

What to check, in order

When to call an engineer

If it comes back, or water is escaping from inside the machine. Samsung UK lists worn drain pump seals, a faulty tub and a damaged detergent dispenser as jobs for its service centre.

Good to know

Samsung UK says a small hole in a hose can be covered with insulating tape for now, but to contact its service centre if that doesn't stop it.
On Waterwall models, Samsung US says to check that no dishes or utensils are stopping the water reflector from moving.
