Parts of the fridge can't communicate

There's a communication error between parts of the fridge's electronics. Samsung says it usually follows a power surge, or happens when the doors aren't connected properly.

Before you start

  • Unplug it before you touch anything inside.
  • Keep an eye on food temperatures until it's fixed.

What to check, in order

  1. Switch it off

    Unplug the fridge or turn it off at the circuit breaker.

  2. Reconnect the door wiring

    Samsung US says to disconnect and reconnect the wire harness above the door.

  3. Power back on

    Restore the power and see whether the code has cleared.

When to call an engineer

If the code comes back. Samsung US says to request service, and Samsung India lists PC ER as a sign the fridge needs service.
