What to check, in order
- Unplug it
Switch off at the wall.
- Press and clean the buttons
Press each button a few times and clean around them. Sticky residue or a warped panel can hold a button down.
- Plug it back in
See whether the code has gone.
When to call an engineer
If a button is physically damaged or the code keeps coming back.
Good to know
- On some US models the same fault shows as E2 or 6E2. Plain bE, without a number, is a motor code on many models: see 3E.
