What to check, in order
- Reset the power
Switch off at the circuit breaker or the wall. Samsung UK says to wait at least 5 minutes before switching back on.
- Run a Normal cycle
Empty the dishwasher, add detergent and run a Normal cycle once.
When to call an engineer
If the code comes back. Samsung US says to switch off at the circuit breaker and contact its service centre.
A repair visit will usually check the sensor's reading with a meter, then its wiring.
Before you book
- Note the model and serial number. They're on a label on the edge of the door or the side of the tub.
- Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
- Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
Good to know
- Samsung US describes HE with the same words as tE. See HC.
- On Samsung UK models, tC1 and tC2 are different: they appear during drying. Samsung's advice is to keep the vent on the outside of the door clear, and not to load tall plastic items against the vent inside.
