What to check, in order
- Turn off the water
Close the tap or valve that feeds the dishwasher, usually under the sink.
- Switch it off, but leave it plugged in
Use the on/off button. The anti-flood system needs power to keep working.
- Look for the leak
Check around the base and along the hoses for leaks, kinks or damage. A visibly damaged hose can be replaced as a spare part, but unplug the dishwasher first: the AquaStop hose contains an electric valve and power cables.
When to call an engineer
Bosch and Siemens say to turn off the water and call customer service, and Bosch advises against fixing it yourself for health and safety reasons. Bosch UK makes one exception: a visibly damaged hose, which you can replace.
A repair visit will usually check the hoses, seals and pump housing to find where the water is coming from.
- Note the model and serial number. They're on a label on the edge of the door or the side of the tub.
- Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
- Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
Good to know
- You'll find advice online to tip the dishwasher back to empty the base and clear the code. Bosch advises against fixing E15 yourself, and tipping only empties the base: the warning clears, the leak doesn't.
