What to check, in order
- Book a service visit
GE and Café both say to contact them for service when LEAK DETECTED appears.
- 999 on a model without Floor Protect?
Then it isn't a leak: the control needs a reset. On GDT225, PDT145 and ZDT165 models, GE says to press and hold Cycle Select and Start for 5 seconds, or until 999 goes away, then press any button.
When to call an engineer
Straight away for LEAK DETECTED. GE doesn't give a fix you can do yourself.
A repair visit will usually check the hoses, seals and pump housing to find where the water is coming from.
Before you book
- Note the model and serial number. They're on a label on the edge of the door or the side of the tub.
- Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
- Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
Good to know
- On models with the Floor Protect with Alert feature, a possible leak shows as 999. On other models 999 means the control needs resetting.
