What to check, in order
- Reset the cycle
Touch Start, then Cancel/Reset.
- Tap the float cover
It's the plastic cover that looks like an upside-down cup, in the front left corner of the tub floor. Tapping it can free a stuck float.
- Check the sump
At the back of the tub floor. It looks like an upside-down cutlery basket and can get clogged with debris.
When to call an engineer
If the problem persists, GE says to contact service.
Good to know
- C5 is related: the pump-out time was too short. GE's steps are to make sure the water supply is on, try the same cycle again and tap the float cover.
Parts people end up buying
Only if the checks above point to a part. Match it to your model number first: it's on a label on the edge of the door or the side of the tub.
