What to check, in order
- Check the drain hose
Pull the machine out if you can, and make sure the drain hose isn't kinked or damaged.
- Check the sink connection
Where the drain hose joins the sink waste, make sure the joint is sealed and not blocked.
- Clean the filter
Take the filter out of the bottom of the tub and rinse it.
- Check the pump cover
Under the filter, the pump cover should be firmly in place, not loose.
- Just fitted a waste disposer?
If a garbage disposal was fitted recently, its knock-out plug may still be in place. It has to be removed.
When to call an engineer
If it keeps happening after these checks.
Good to know
- Bosch's E24 pages also say to check the inlet hose, but E24 is a drainage fault and their other steps are all on the drain side, so start with the drain hose.
