The dishwasher will not drain. Some models show FTD or F56 for the same failure to drain.

Before you start

  • Unplug it before you touch anything inside.
  • Turn the tap off before you undo any hose or filter.

What to check, in order

  1. Reset it

    Switch the power off at the circuit breaker for about 30 seconds, then switch it back on and reset the dishwasher.

  2. Check the drain path

    Check the drain hose, the air gap and the waste disposer, if it drains into one.

If the problem persists, GE says to contact service.
