- Check the latch
Make sure nothing is blocking the lock or the striker on the lid or door.
- Unplug for 5 minutes
Then plug it back in and see whether the lock releases.

If it continues, schedule service.

- Whirlpool's consumer page for front-loaders describes F5E3 with the same words as F5E2 (door not locking properly). The technical sheet is specific: the lock won't release.
