What to check, in order
- Let it clear
On front-loaders, Sud or Sd with the Rinse light on means the washer is clearing the suds. Let it carry on.
- Use HE detergent, and less of it
Only HE detergent, and no more than the recommended amount.
- Avoid 'no splash' bleach
Whirlpool warns against 'no splash' or 'easy-pour' chlorine bleach.
- Run Rinse/Spin
To finish the load.
- Bulk dispenser?
If your washer has one, check its concentration setting.
When to call an engineer
Only if it happens with the right detergent.
