Look for fluff, a trapped sock or damage around the catch.
- Close it firmly
Until it clicks, then try again.
- Reset
Unplug for 2 minutes and try again.

If it keeps happening, book an engineer.

- Separately from this code, certain Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines made between October 2014 and February 2018 are under a fire-safety recall, because a part in the door lock can overheat. An F06 code doesn't mean your machine is affected, but check your model and serial number on the official recall checker before paying for a new door lock. If yours is affected, unplug it, stop using it and contact Whirlpool for a free repair or replacement.
