Can I fix GE H2O myself?

Easy (About 20 minutes). 1. Open both taps fully: GE's first question: were one or both supply valves left off after installation, or after coming back from holiday? 2. Wait out the lock: The controls won't respond for 4 minutes. Unplugging the washer starts the 4 minutes again, so just wait, then start the cycle again. 3. Clean the inlet screens: Turn the taps off and take the hoses off the back of the washer and off the taps. Clean the screens in the hoses (if fitted) and in the machine with a brush or a toothpick. Call an engineer: If the taps are fully open and the screens are clean but the message keeps coming back, GE recommends a service visit.

The washer has found that water isn't coming in, so it stops and locks its controls for 4 minutes. Washers without a display flash the Fill light instead, or on some models the Wash and Rinse lights.

What to check, in order

On front-loaders, GE says H2O SUPPLY can also mean a problem with the pressure sensor, or in rare cases extremely low water pressure. The washer then runs its drain pump for 4 minutes so it can't overfill.
