What to check, in order
- Reset the power
Unplug the fridge, or switch it off at its circuit breaker, and use it again after about 5 minutes.
- See if it stays away
A temporary fault caused by an unstable power supply can clear this way.
When to call an engineer
If Er CO comes back after the reset. LG says an LG technician needs to check it, as the cause could be the main board, the display board or a disconnected wire.
A repair visit will usually check the wiring between the boards first, then the boards themselves.
Before you book
- Note the model and serial number. They're on a label inside the fridge, usually on a side wall, or on the back.
- Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
- Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
