What to check, in order
- Clean the lint filter
Every load. Now and then, wash it in warm water with a soft brush.
- Check the duct behind the dryer
It shouldn't be crushed, kinked or coiled, and shouldn't have holes or loose joints.
- Check the outside vent
The flaps should open fully and be free of lint. With the dryer running you should feel a strong flow of air outside.
- Smaller loads, d75 and d80 only
Until the duct is cleared. With d90 or d95, stop using the dryer.
When to call an engineer
If the duct is long, or runs through walls or ceilings. LG recommends a professional duct cleaner rather than an LG engineer.
Good to know
- For d90 and d95, LG says not to use the dryer until the exhaust system has been cleaned and repaired.
- Long duct runs with lots of 90° bends clog up faster.
