What to check, in order
- Check the plug
The cord should be firmly in a grounded outlet that matches the dryer's rating plate: 240 V.
- Reset the breaker
Turn the dryer's circuit breaker off for at least 10 seconds, then back on.
- Check the cord wiring
LG says to check how the power cord is connected at the back of the dryer. It has installation videos for 3-wire and 4-wire cords. This is mains wiring, so have an electrician do it if you're not qualified.
When to call an engineer
If the cord is wired correctly and PS stays, LG says the dryer needs service.
A repair visit will usually check the supply at the socket, the plug and the machine's power input.
Before you book
- Note the model and serial number. They're on a label inside the door, around the door frame or on the back.
- Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
- Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
