What to check, in order
- Check the power
Try the socket with another appliance, and check the fuse in the plug.
- Reset
Unplug for 2 minutes and try again.
When to call an engineer
If the socket and fuse are fine and a reset doesn't help, book an engineer.
A repair visit will usually check the connectors and wiring first, then the control boards themselves.
Before you book
- Note the model and serial number. They're on a label inside the door, around the door frame or on the back.
- Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
- Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
