What to check, in order
- Use HE detergent
Check the bottle says high-efficiency (HE).
- Use less of it
Too much detergent sets off F2 even when it's the right type.
- Run an empty Quick Wash
With nothing inside, to clean the washer out.
When to call an engineer
Only if F2 keeps coming back with the right detergent in the right amount.
Good to know
- Frigidaire's F2 article applies to washers in general, though its web address refers to front-loaders. On top-loaders, too much detergent can also stop the washer draining properly: see E2.
