What it means
LG Canada's chart says 'Indoor unit fan has locked up (fan motor operation failure)'. LG pairs CH10 with E6 on some models.
What to check, in order
- Look for anything blocking the fan
Switch the unit off at the plug or breaker first. LG's fan code guide says to check for debris around the fan and, wearing gloves, carefully remove it only if you can reach it. Don't take covers off or reach inside the unit to get to it.
- Reset the power
Leave it unplugged or switched off for about 5 minutes, then switch it back on and see if the code clears.
- Stop using it if it comes back
If CH10 returns after a reset, LG says to stop using the unit and contact LG or a technician.
When to call an engineer
LG lists a faulty fan motor, wiring or control board as possible causes. These need a technician. LG notes a service fee may apply out of warranty.
