What to check, in order
- Tap the bumper
Briskly tap it several times to free any trapped debris, then press CLEAN to restart.
- Check it's seated
If there's no debris, the bumper may have come loose from the robot and need refitting.
When to call an engineer
If the message persists, contact iRobot Customer Care.
Good to know
- Some older models play a two-tone alert followed by nine beeps instead of speaking.
