What to check, in order
- Move it if it's stuck
If it's wedged under furniture, move it and press CLEAN. Block the spot with a Virtual Wall.
- Clear the wheel wells
Push the wheels up and down several times and shake out any loose debris trapped in the wheel wells.
- Spin both wheels by hand
Turn them briskly. They should turn freely, and each should have the same amount of resistance.
- Reboot
i series: hold the power button for 20 seconds off the dock. Other models are in the notes on the Roomba page.
- i series: reseat the wheel module
Take the wheel module out and put it back, set Roomba on the Home Base to boot up, then run it again.
When to call an engineer
If it continues, iRobot says you may need a replacement wheel module.
Parts people end up buying
Only if the checks above point to a part. Match it to your model number first: it's on a label on the underside, often under the dust bin.
