Can you do it yourself?

Easy

About 10 minutes

Before you start

  • Never take the boiler's cover off. Anything inside is a job for a Gas Safe registered engineer.
  • Smell gas? Call the gas emergency number, 0800 111 999.

What it means

Baxi's EcoBlue Advance Combi manuals list 151 as flame failure. On the older Platinum 2 Combi GA, 151 means an internal circuit board fault instead, so check your own manual.

What to check, in order

  1. Check you have gas

Do your other gas appliances work, and does a prepayment meter have credit?

  2. Reset if the reset symbol shows

Baxi's EcoBlue Advance guide says to hold Reset for 2 seconds. If a spanner symbol shows instead, it needs an engineer.

When to call a Gas Safe engineer

If the fault keeps coming back or the spanner symbol shows, call a Gas Safe registered engineer.
