Baxi's Platinum, Platinum+, Assure, Duo-tec 2 GA and EcoBlue Advance user guides all list E20. Platinum boilers show E followed by the number; the others show 20 next to an error symbol.

What to check, in order

  1. Write down the code

Baxi's Platinum user guide says E20 indicates a faulty component: make a note of it.

  2. Contact your installer or a Gas Safe engineer

Baxi gives no fix you can do yourself for E20.

When to call a Gas Safe engineer

Baxi's code list calls E20 a central heating NTC sensor fault: a short circuit or open circuit in the sensor or its wiring.

A repair visit will usually check the sensor's reading and its wiring.

Before you book
  • Note the model and serial number. They're on a label on the data badge, usually under the boiler or behind the front cover.
  • Write down the exact code, and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
  • Check whether it's still under warranty. If it is, the repair may cost you nothing.
